Richard Kell completed his epic 314 mile run from The Nags Head pub in Peckham to Lands End in a week.
This was the second leg of his special Only Fools & Heroes challenge - raising money for Help for Heroes. Over the past 5 years, Richard has raised nearly £30,000 for H4H. As well as the TV inspired runs, he has completed more than 80 marathons and ultra-marathons, a parachute jump and a couple of abseils for the charity.
After the run Richard said: "I’ve covered thousands of miles since I took up running 5 years ago, but running in a Batman costume while pushing a Robin Reliant themed buggy across some of England's hillier terrain were the absolute toughest. I suffered in the heat of our Indian summer, and running nearly 2 marathons a day really takes it out of you! My fantastic nutritional sponsors 9Bar kept me going till the end (eating 7,000+ calories each day is one of the perks of something like this)!
"I got a fantastic reception on reaching Lands End & collected plenty of money on the way. Now it's time for a well-earned Cornish pint & pasty!"
Help for Heroes provides invaluable support for the brave lads and lasses who continue to do such a fantastic job. They have helped thousands of wounded servicemen and women to adjust and rebuild their lives. The war in Afghanistan may be nearly over, but for those who have suffered life-changing injuries, their battles are just beginning. We must not let them fight these battles alone. Many may need our support for half a century or more. Help for Heroes exists to provide that.
