H4H Patron Peta Cavendish has qualified as an international rally co-driver just in time to compete in the Wales Rally GB. Why not head over there and cheer her on as she and Tony Jardine attempt to complete 23 rally stages between Friday 13 - 16 November?
They will be easy to spot as Peta and Tony will be waving the flag for the Charity in their Help for Heroes branded rally car!
Peta has had a whirlwind introduction to rallying, having to complete an intensive training schedule and four rally events in just eight weeks to earn her international rally licence. This period has had its setbacks too, with Peta spending a week in hospital recovering from a painful collapsed lung injury.
Bill Gwynne, the owner of the rallyschool was responsible for upgrading Peta's license, giving her the fourth and final signature to achieve her international co-driver’s licence.
Speaking after the test Bill said: “Peta has a very natural feel for the car. She was incredibly nervous about driving but she should have more confidence in her ability behind the wheel. We’d welcome her back anytime and wish her the best of luck at Wales Rally GB.”
Peta said: “That’s very kind of Bill. Thankfully for the time being I can focus on co-driving and leave the driving to Tony. I’m relieved to have got this far given the ups and downs we’ve had, and over the moon to have received my fourth signature. There’s still a lot of homework to do but I cannot wait to get stuck.”
Wales Rally GB takes place on 13-16 November. To see the action yourself tickets, including the ticket-only family friendly RallyFest stages, can be purchased at www.walesrallygb.com or via hotline 0844 847 2251
