It isn’t every day you get to do the sport you love, with the person who inspired you to take it up, but that is exactly what happened to Corporal Josh Boggi this week.
After meeting at The Sun Military Awards in December, where triple amputee Josh Boggi from the Royal Engineers was presented with the Overcoming Adversity Award, Sir Bradley Wiggins was so inspired by Josh’s determination that he promised they would meet up to go for a ride sometime soon. True to his word, this week Brad invited Josh to bring his handbike over to the Team Sky training camp in Majorca where they were able to go out on a ride together.
Josh also had the opportunity to talk to Bradley about the H4H run cycling event, Hero Ride, happening this June. Talking to the Sun, Brad said, “Everyone recognises this cause [Help for Heroes] and it’s close to everyone’s hearts…I’d urge people to get involved with one of the fundraising rides available to all abilities — after all, it beats running!”
