On 10 July 2014, Hanging Heaton Golf Club held a Charity Golf Day in Support of H4H, write up of the day below from the Event Organiser:
"Despite a poor weather forecast the sun shone just about all day which for the onlookers and supporters was very pleasant but I'm not sure the same could be said for some of the participants as they were about to embark on the their third round of the day!! However they all stuck to their task brilliantly and I can confirm that all went round (and round, and round) safely.
The day began early at 06:00 and after a welcome cup of coffee the golfers set off under a "shotgun start" which is usual for this type of competition .Each golfer played three rounds, one after the other with refreshments between each break.
We also had a putting competition, beat the pro-competition which all added to the enjoyment of the day. After the golf had finished there was a raffle and an auction in the clubhouse.
Everyone had a tremendous time whether playing, helping or just simply watching. We must also give a special mention to the staff at Hanging Heaton Golf Club couldn't have been more supportive.
With some sponsorship money still to collect the Golf Day is set to have raised an amazing amount for Help for Heroes."
Thank you all to those involved in this day!
