Surf Action Supported By Help For Heroes

In March 2013 Surf Action announced they had won an award from The Big Lottery Fund under the 'Reaching Communities' scheme. This funding goes a long way in assisting Surf Action to continue the variety of projects delivered, including surfing days, family days and employment training for veterans.

Founder and Chief Executive Rich Emerson, said "Appearing on the Lottery show will help boost awareness of the level of work we do and the benefits of coming to Surf Action. As runners up in 2011 as the best health project funded by the lottery we will always strive to provide the best service possible to those veterans who need support."

Established in Cornwall in 2009, Surf Action and uses surfing and beach environments to support military veterans (including TAs and Reservists) and their families, especially those affected by PTSD and physical injuries, or those struggling to re-adjust to civilian life.
