Last week, three members of the Help for Heroes Band of Brothers went to watch Top Gear being filmed in their famous hangar in Surrey. Top Gear presenter and Help for Heroes patron, Jeremy Clarkson, is a huge supporter of the Charity and has arranged tickets to the filming on a few occasions – with many more in the pipeline! The hugely popular Top Gear has been running for many years and has been translated into hundreds of languages.
The Band of Brothers enjoyed a day of watching Clarkson, May and Hammond entertain the audience between takes and got to see many special cars, scattered around the hangar. After a short break, the guest star, Benedict Cumberbatch came and had a chat to Clarkson, followed by the audience watching all the pre-recorded films of the team racing abroad. A tiring, but fantastic day had by all!
The Help for Heroes Band of Brothers offers lifelong support and opportunities to those men and women, both serving and non-serving, who have suffered life-changing injuries or illness whilst in service since 2001. Band of Brothers members receive the same financial and welfare support that Help for Heroes offers through the Quick Reaction Fund, but in addition have opportunities to take up offers donated to us by the very supportive public. These Include:
- Work experience
- VIP opportunities
- Great days out
- Tickets to events
- Employment opportunities
- And so much more!
