With 2013 marking the 75th anniversary of the creation of Superman, a record breaking 867 people donned an iconic Superman outfit at the Lake District’s Kendal Calling festival, landing a Guinness World Record for their fantastic efforts to raise money for Help for Heroes.
With the previous record standing at 556 people, the fancy dress store Escapade had this target in their sights and on Saturday 27 July arranged for hundreds of outfits to be handed out for free to people of all ages to “do their bit” and be a part of this incredible spectacle and achievement.
Ben Robinson, director of Kendal Calling, said: "We have had some moments to remember for a lifetime at the festival this weekend and seeing hundreds of supermen from three-years-old to 70 was simply amazing."
Huge congratulations to everyone involved and well done on reaching a brilliant fundraising total of over £1000.
