Colchester Military Wives Choir sing for their Heroes

On a warm Saturday evening in the heart of Maldon, Colchester Military Wives could be heard singing from the United Reformed Church raising money for Help for Heroes.

Group_fundraise_for_h4hLocal fundraising duo, Thaine Mayes and Faith March, hosted a summer concert in aid of Help for Heroes.  The choir, under the baton of Mrs Sally Leung, sang to a packed audience from across the county including Air cadets from 295 [Witham] Squadron who acted as ushers and, Lord Lieutenant of Essex. Alongside the Choir, local pianist Richard Maison played as well as young singer songwriter, Charlotte Hume, an alumni of Plume College.

Seventeen year old, Thaine Mayes said: "it was a fantastic evening and even though I've never done this sort of thing before, it was great!"

A fantastic total of just over £2000 was raised from the concert to add to Faith’s fundraising total for her Help for Heroes trek to the Great Wall of China.
