Brad and Tom, two employees from Rebellion Brewery, Marlow, have walked an incredible 55 miles in under 20 hours for Help for Heroes. Their hike took them from Rebellion Brewery in Marlow to Tedworth House, one of the 4 UK wide H4H Recovery Centres. which form part of the Defence Recovery Capability.
The pair set out on 15 August at 1800 from the brewery where they work. They walked through the night and on 16 August at 1345 they arrived sleepless and blistered at the Recovery Centre, having carried the equivalent weight of 72 bottles of beer on their backs. The actual chilled and unshaken beer bottles were delivered to Tedworth House just after their arrival.
“We wanted a challenge for charity” says Brad, 22, “and we’ve participated in one event already this year, but we wanted to do something more original.” Both are avid sportsmen and with Tom, 19, planning to join the Royal Marines in the near future, Help for Heroes was the charity that held the most significance for them. Congratulations to both, an incredible acomplishment, a fantastic fundraising total of almost £2000 and hopefully they have caught up on their sleep by now!
