HEROES is our quarterly magazine filled with news and articles about the projects H4H supports and featuring some of the amazing fundraising activities going on all over the UK. The magazine also includes interviews with wounded Servicemen and women who have battled their injuries and achieved extraordinary things.

HEROES 13

HEROES 13 explains how H4H provides opportunities for our heroes to learn new skills for a fulfilling future. In February 2013, the government announced an investment of £17.5m to improve prosthetic care for Service personnel and veterans. Read how H4H played a part in driving this decision. HEROES 9

Issue 9 features Fisher House, a new H4H funded Forces and Families Centre being built on site at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. We also get to meet a few of the Race Across America team and hear from Battle Backers Alex Strong and Simon Brown about their trek through Costa Rica. The fantastic new Herowear range is launched through our shopping pages and we introduce Heroes Hat Trick - a fun new way for children to 'do their bit'.

HEROES 8

Issue 8 features wounded hero Jon Le Galloudec’s diary of his incredible climb to Everest Base Camp as well as articles on two of the Paralympic hopefuls; reminding us of what it is all about. We report on the first residents moving into Phoenix House, the Personnel Recovery Centre at Catterick, and the 2011 Heroes Rugby Challenge at Twickenham attended by 700 of the H4H Band of Brothers and Band of Sisters; also featured is an article explaining just what these networks mean to the wounded and their loved ones.

In Winter 2011 we celebrated our 4th birthday with an update on where we had allocated or spent all the money raised by the British public; from the progress on each of the Personnel Recovery Centres, the Quick Reaction Fund, to our support for Battle Back. As always we featured the inspirational stories of the wounded and their extraordinary achievements; including in this issue the GQ Men of the Year Awards.

HEROES 6

The Summer 2011 issue was very special because we were thrilled to announce we’d hit £100 million. On behalf of everyone at Help for Heroes, Bryn and Emma Parry thanked everyone who had done their bit to help our wounded heroes on their road to recovery; from sky dives to cake sales, from fancy dress days to climbing Mount Everest. Every penny raised has gone to provide direct, practical support to those men and women of our Armed Forces who have given so much.

HEROES 5

2011 was a big year for H4H and in the Spring 2011 issue we reported on the turf cutting ceremony for the first purpose-built Recovery Centre in Colchester which will cost around £6.5m to build and will house 30 wounded Servicemen and women. It will be a Support Hub for many more in the area too. Also featured were some of the amazing Challenges we offer, including a diary of the Sahara Trek.

HEROES 4

By the time of the Winter 2010 edition we were nudging the £71 million mark and a highlight was the Heroes Concert at Twickenham Stadium. Also featured was the remarkable work of the H4H volunteer team and Help for Heroes grant to Combat Stress.

HEROES 3

The Summer/Autumn 2010 edition included news on the opening of the Help for Heroes Rehabilitation Complex at Headley Court by HRH Prince William; the first major delivery project completed by H4H. The magazine also featured a report on the Big Battlefield Bike Ride 2010 – our most iconic challenge in the H4H fundraising calendar.

Published in Spring 2010, HEROES 2 reported H4H had reached the £40 million fundraising landmark, provided an update on the construction work at Headley Court,; and featured the inspirational Ben McBean, Phil Packer and Matt Kingston and their London Marathon achievements.
