Moto in the Community Trust (MITC) has celebrated hitting the £1.5m fundraising milestone since its partnership with Help for Heroes began more than four years ago. An amazing £400k was raised in 2016 alone through a mix of national events and local fundraising efforts by Moto staff and customers.
Each year, Moto employees organise two national collection weekends for Help for Heroes during the Easter and summer bank holiday weekends, as well as a special collection for Armed Forces Day. Last June, staff across the UK took part in an epic challenge and cycled thousands of kilometres as part of ‘Hero Ride: The Moto Challenge’ – all without moving from the spot! The 24-hour static bike challenge raised over £30,000 and they’ll be doing it all again in May 2017.
As the charitable arm of Moto Hospitality Ltd, MITC first adopted Help for Heroes as its Charity of the Year in 2012. The partnership has been so successful that it unanimously decided to continue to support the Charity into 2017 and beyond. The next fundraising milestone is £2m.
