British 10K London runers with Hero Bear

Places for the 2014 British 10k London Run are now up for grabs and H4H is the official charity partner! The road race route will take in some of the capital’s world renowned and historic landmarks, including The Ritz, Trafalgar Square, St. Paul's Cathedral, the London Eye, Big Ben and the British Houses of Parliament.

In honour of this year’s First World War anniversary, organisers of the race along H4H will be planning a number of activities to commemorate the occasion. In the build-up to the event, this will include runners with the special race numbers 1914, 1915, 1916, 1917 & 1918, all having family trees which can trace back to former family members who took part in WW1 in some capacity.
There will be special activity on race day including having some  of the horses used in the Steven Spielberg film War Horse, used as part of the opening ceremony on Piccadilly with riders in period dress. There will also be around 150 soldiers in period dress attending the race itself along with the Military Wives Choir singing their hearts out. Race organisers are also speaking with Imperial War Museum to discover if they have records of who built The Cenotaph, another famous landmark which the run passes, to try and locate their relatives of today to enlist them to run this year.

Don’t miss your chance to compete in this unique run and play your part in history – visit the website or contact the Help for Heroes running team today on 01725 514124.
