Help for Heroes strives to achieve the best for the men and women of Great Britain’s Armed Forces, both serving and veteran. We are proud to work with other Service charities to make sure that the wounded, injured and sick get the support they deserve. Here is how Help for Heroes' grants have improved opportunities for veterans.
Help for Heroes are proud to be supporting the work of Veterans Scotland with a grant of £10,000 per annum.
Veterans Scotland is an association of 56 organisations connected by the common aim of working with the veterans’ community within Scotland. They act as an umbrella organisation for Service Charities throughout Scotland and the main objects are to:
Enhance, wherever possible, the welfare and wellbeing of the veterans’ community in Scotland.
Work closely with member organisations to achieve maximum benefit for the veterans’ community through the collective and unified views of all those who work on behalf of veterans in Scotland.
Engage, where appropriate, with the UK and Scottish Governments on matters relating to veterans’ affairs.
Act as a point of contact for government and other agencies for all matters relating to veterans’ policy.
Disseminate in a timely and effective manner key information to Veterans
The grant from Help for Heroes will enable the continuation of an invaluable service throughout Scotland that ensures continual improvement and awareness of veterans’ issues within the Scottish community.
