Help for Heroes strives to achieve the best for the men and women of Great Britain’s Armed Forces, both serving and veteran. We are proud to work with other Service charities to make sure that the wounded, injured and sick get the support they deserve. Here is how Help for Heroes' grants have improved opportunities for veterans.
The NGVFA was established to help Service personnel and families affected by the first Gulf war. The NGVFA have expanded and now include Veterans and families from recent conflicts.
A £9,796 grant from Help for Heroes to NGVFA will be used to support their annual family respite breaks. The five day respite breaks provide a safe haven, a chance to meet people in a similar situation and to learn from shared experiences. The breaks can be particularly useful for children, who may never have met and interacted with like-minded peers. The breaks balance family entertainment and mutual support with an educational element and also offer informative workshops.
