Tom Wright grew up in Kenya and was then educated both at school and university in England. After Durham University he joined the British Army as an officer in The Royal Green Jackets. He saw service in Northern Ireland, England, Cyprus, Germany and The Sultanate of Oman. He ended his military career as aide-de-camp to the Chief of the Defence Staff in London.
In 1986 he joined John Swire & Sons and was seconded to Cathay Pacific Airways in Hong Kong. During his nearly 27 years with the Swire Group he served in a variety of roles that covered country and regional management; airline planning; heading up inflight services and then HR for the airline. He has also worked in a number of countries - Hong Kong, Italy, Korea, the USA, Bahrain and for the last 6 years with the Group in India.
On retirement from Swire’s in 2013 he joined IMM Associates in London. IMM is a specialist advisory and investment firm that helps companies develop businesses in international growth markets. In 2015 he became part of Alexander Hughes UK as an Executive Search Client Partner covering Aerospace, Defence and the Travel industries.
Tom is also actively involved with a number of Asian focused charities and NGOs.
Married with 2 children, his other interests include hiking, country activities, travel – especially in wild and remote areas, food and music of all types.
