Bill was medically discharged for severe hearing loss after two tours of Afghanistan and as a result his family have been suffering financial hardship as his wife put her career on hold to support and look after him. We helped by providing funding of £400 for a distance learning course for her so that she can eventually help to support their young family.

Colin suffered blast injuries which damaged his legs. He has had quite a few surgeries to improve his mobility but has to rely on crutches so is not able to walk up or down stairs. We helped by providing grant funding of £1156 to supply and install a temporary stairlift for three months which will hopefully cover him until he can walk unaided. He can now comfortably get to his bedroom and bathroom on his own.

Simon was injured in Afghanistan; he now has nerve injury and irritable pain syndrome. He and his partner have 7 children between them, six of which live with them. As Simon suffers from PTSD the children are having counselling at school to help them cope with Simon's injuries and behaviour. They booked a short holiday using their savings for some respite, so we helped by providing funding of £700 so they could be almost fully reimbursed.

Andrew had a major operation but his doctors are unsure as to what is causing his ongoing issues. He struggles to function on a day to day basis due to his medication. His wife does not want to have to rely on family for support so we provided £390.00 towards the cost of 20 hours driving lessons for her to become more self-reliant as she will probably have to be the main driver in the family for a long time.

Sam is now a double amputee following an IED incident in Afghanistan. We supported Sam and his wife by providing £625 towards the costs of car adaptations. This will give Sam and his wife greater independence and a better quality of life.

David suffered spinal cord and severe brain injuries after falling from a helicopter in Afghanistan in 2009. As a result of this, David will never be able to work again and his wife Susan has put her career on hold to care for him during his recovery. We helped by providing funding of £4275 so that Susan could enrol on a distance learning course and be able to financially support her husband and family in the longer term. This has provided the family with some much needed support and financial security during this difficult time.

Andy is a double amputee who is currently undergoing rehabilitation at Headley Court. As Andy lives in an isolated village with rocky terrain, he was finding it extremely difficult to stay mobile and independent. We helped Andy by providing grant funding of £3995 for the provision of an off road hand bike. This will allow Andy easier access to the village and also aid his rehabilitation by helping to improve his fitness levels.

Martin was left a partial tetraplegic after a gunshot wound to his neck whilst serving in Afghanistan in 2006. We provided funding of £3075 towards the purchase of an all-terrain wheelchair, allowing Martin to have greater independence, more mobility, and ultimately a better quality of life.

Sam was only 23 when he was involved in an IED incident in Afghanistan. He sustained significant injuries including amputation of both legs, loss of an eye and a severe brain injury. We helped Sam with a grant of £1005 towards the costs of joining a gym with excellent disabled facilities in his local area. This will help Sam in his recovery and rehabilitation process, ensuring he has an optimal level of strength and fitness for the use of prosthetics.

Richard served with the RAF for 24 years and was medically discharged in 2011 due to multiple arthritis in his spine caused by his Service. We supported Richard with his transition into civilian employment by providing funding of £798.20 for the provision of a specialist chair in his workplace. This will ensure that Richard can continue to work without discomfort and long term pain.

Paul sustained a traumatic brain injury due to an IED explosion in Afghanistan, which has left him with partial paralysis and diminished balance. Whilst Paul was recovering at Headley Court he discovered a passion for cycling. We provided a grant of £856.80 for the purchase of a Recumbent Cycle so that Paul could continue to enjoy this pursuit and improve his fitness whilst at home.

Paul is a double amputee due to an IED incident in Afghanistan. Paul has a young child and has been struggling to maintain his fitness since his surgery a few years ago. We provided a grant of £3995 for the purchase of a Mountain Trike, allowing Paul to improve his cardiovascular fitness as well as have the independence and freedom to experience new opportunities with his young daughter.

Fiona's partner was injured in Afghanistan and due to his injuries can no longer drive the family car. As they have a large family and live in a rural area with very little public transport we provided a grant of £513 for the provision of driving lessons for Fiona. This will allow the family more freedom and independence and enable Fiona to accompany her partner to his many required medical appointments.

Brian is a double amputee and sustained a brain injury whilst on operation in Afghanistan and will soon be medically discharged from the Forces. Brian has bought a property close to his parents' home so that they can support him in his future and help with his transition into civilian life. We provided a grant of £27,358.84 towards the costs of adaptations to Brian's home.

Liam is a triple amputee and will continue to need regular hospital admissions for quite some time. Liam's relatives live in another country so we provided a grant of £552 towards the costs of extending the visa of Liam's sister-in-law who provides the family with much needed support whilst they adapt and come to terms with Liam's life changing injuries.

Jason received a gunshot wound and suffered severe hearing loss due to incidents on 2 separate tours of Afghanistan. As a result of Jason's traumatic experiences and the intensity of operations, he has also been left suffering with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. We provided a grant of £6000 towards the costs of a deposit for an automatic car, allowing him the independence and freedom that he has very much missed since his injuries.

Philip has severe spinal injuries after sustaining a gunshot wound in Afghanistan and now requires the use of a wheelchair. We provided funding of £5377.44 for the provision of tarmac on Philip's driveway at home, allowing him easier and safe access to his garage and home.

Martin is an amputee following an IED incident whilst serving in Afghanistan and has struggled to regain his fitness since his surgery. We helped with a grant of £3990 for the purchase of a handbike, enabling Martin to regain his physical fitness and build muscle strength as part of his rehabilitation.

Simon suffers with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) following difficult tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Simon finds exercise very therapeutic and it helps to alleviate some of the anxiety that he experiences on a daily basis. We provided Simon with funding of £359.99 towards the costs of gym membership to help him manage his medical condition.

David suffered a severe back injury following an accident whilst serving and has had to have major surgery. As a result David will spend a long period of time bed bound. We provided a grant of £3107.98 for the purchase of a specialist bed system at his home, allowing David as much comfort as possible during his recovery period.

Catherine's son is an amputee and sustained serious wounds to his right leg and upper limbs whilst on operations. Leaving him unable to weight bear. We provided funding of £575 for the installation and hire of a stair lift for 3 months at Catherine's home, allowing her son access to facilities upstairs during his recovery.

Joe is a bilateral below the knee amputee and also suffers from severe PTSD. He lost his first leg on the Battlefield in Iraq in 1994 and then the second in 2009 when medics were finally unable to save it.. We provided him with a grant for £20,000 so that he was able to be paired with Radley, his Canine Partner. Radley has only been with him a few weeks but already we have seen such a difference in Joe, helping him deal with his PTSD as well as with fetching his prosthetic limbs and picking up dropped items.
