Hero the bear at Tidworth

Up with the lark this morning and off to do some volunteer work at Tidworth where Help for Heroes has its Headquarters; we call it HQ H4H.
Everyone was very keen to hear my war stories about my tour in Basra but I said I would rather not talk about it as it brought back too many memories...
Hero at Work
First up, getting my priorities right, I made a brew for the team... lead by example I say! I hope that Bryn takes note as he always seems to vanish when it’s his turn to put the kettle on.
Hero the Bear with Lucy and Ruth
Lucy and Ruth lead the Events Team and they spend all day taking calls and emails from people all over the country who want to do something for H4H. They are starting work on the next big bike ride in France so I was able to give them a few tips as an old hand.
Tidworth Staff
Amanda (Moneypenny) and Maria run The Welsh Office (aka Donations) and open all the cheques. They also write thank you letters to all our lovely donors... lovely Isn’t it?

Katie is another Lady from The Valleys (and Amanda’s sister). She spends all day answering the phone, mostly in English.

Mark tells me that he is in charge but secretly he knows that I am Top Bear around here; I just wish he would show me some proper respect. He used to be a Grenadier Guardsman and wear a bearskin on his head. I think he must be joking... that can’t be right.

There are lots of other volunteers who come in and I will write about them soon. They are a good lot and I like to see them doing their bit, especially if they bring in cakes.

We have a little shop in the office so people can come and buy H4H goodies. I help out there with a little modelling and use bear faced cheek as a sales technique.

Must dash, its time for tea and toast.
