Well the weather did not dampen our enthusiasm on Friday 2nd September when we held a garden party to celebrate the first year of the Hero garden in Plymouth!
Despite the persistent showers everyone was smiling and enjoying themselves when we gathered together amongst the fruit, flowers and vegetables to listen to fantastic music played by the Devonport RN Volunteer Band and enjoy pasties and homemade cakes.
There was fruit, vegetables and Help for Heroes honey on offer, all produced from the garden and hero bees!
The event was well attended by BoB/BoS and beneficiaries as well as the Help for Heroes Team.
“There’s so much more here than we thought; such a range of activities and a beautiful setting, what more could you want.”
“It’s a great little space, I’ve only been up here two or three times so far but hopefully I’ll be able to get up here more often to get involved and help out.”
