September has been a quieter month in terms of events and get-togethers; however I have been busy travelling up and down the country. I have visited the lovely Tedworth House for a few days to see our wonderful BoB and BoS national team, over to the North West and some exploring up and around the North East, meeting some great people and learning about new initiatives.
At Phoenix House we are getting ready for the ‘Help for Heroes Fashion Show 2016’, which will be taking place on Tuesday 4th October. The event is certainly energetic and emotional, where our Band of Brothers and Sisters pluck up the courage and take to the catwalk amongst semi-professional models and get dressed up in wonderfully glamourous outfits, and have their hair and makeup done! It is a fantastic opportunity to take part in an activity you probably won’t have experienced before. I look forward to telling you all about in next month’s issue of Bandstand!
The Shooting for Heroes team enjoyed learning all about training and caring for gun dogs and even experienced an incredible live gun dog demonstration at Phoenix House, hosted by ‘Skinners Dog Food’. In September the team also visited Longthorne gun makers in Northamptonshire and had a really interesting tour of the workshop. The afternoon was spent shooting clays with these amazing guns.
If you have any suggestions of what you would like in your area or any feedback, all would be greatly received. Please let me know at firstname.lastname@example.org .
