What a busy month it has been here in the South West. There has been a multitude of activities happening at the Recovery Centre including walking football, sitting volleyball, wheelchair rugby and a Try-Dive session in the Endeavour Pool.
Band of Brother Stuart James thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the Try-Dive on Friday 14th October.
“It was great being in and under the water. I felt a fantastic sense of achievement and it really boosted my confidence”
On Thursday 6th October the Band of Brothers and Sisters had an Outreach Get Together in bootiful Bude, North Devon. The weather was really kind to us and we were so fortunate to meet up in such a beautiful environment. They all enjoyed a well-deserved hot drink and a slice of cake after spending the morning surfing with the Bude Surf Veterans.
The climbing wall at Plymouth RC always proves popular with our BoB/BoS and families. Band of Brother Chris Marsh, who suffered a traumatic brain injury, was well up for taking to the wall recently at last week’s Veterans Friday session. “Climbing the wall is awesome; it makes me feel like I’ve achieved something worthwhile. I come to Veterans Friday every week and there is always something to do”
