Ceremony of the Keys

Ceremony of the Keys

BoB and BoS members from London and the South East were invited to the Ceremony of the Keys. This is the traditional locking up of the Tower of London and has taken place on each and every night, without fail, for at least 700 years.

The importance of securing this fortress for the night is still very relevant because, although the Monarch no longer resides at this royal palace, the Crown Jewels and many other valuables still do.

BoB and BoS were invited to attend by Bob Loughlin who is one of the Wardens. He gave the group a personal tour before a drink in the bar followed by the ceremony.

BoB member Paul Prior who attended said; “It was a fantastic memorable occasion that the general public don’t get to see. I can`t thank the Wardens enough for being so welcoming and inviting us to the private bar. Having opportunities like this really does help the recovery journey and interacting with other beneficiaries in an incredible setting like The Tower of London was amazing. A huge thank you to H4H for organising the opportunity.”
