Band of Brother members were invited to Morayshire Flying Club, affiliated with the Douglas Bader Foundation who set up flying days for RAF veterans.
After being greeted by George from the foundation the BoB and BoS members were invited to meet the pilots. As well as getting to chance to have a fantastic lunch while watching an airshow, some of the members actually got to take part in it! Terry and his family were passengers in a light, midsize aircraft called a Cessna! And, as if this wasn’t exciting enough, at 2500ft Terry was given the opportunity to take the controls (assisted by the pilot of course) and experience flying a plane!
Terry says: “Wow what a fantastic day it was for all of my family. All I can say is a Massive thank you to all of the staff at the Morayshire Flying Club who took their time to look after my family and everyone else who was there and also to the Douglas Bader Foundation for making this possible for the WIS personnel it was and is very much appreciated by all who was there. Oh, and if your all wondering, YES I've got the Flying Bug.”
