From 14 - 20 August, 20 BoB/BoS families stayed at the Somerset Legion House in Weston-Super-Mare. These mini-holidays are donated by the RBL and are known as Poppy Breaks. They give the BoB/BoS families something to do every day, and just allows time to unwind and enjoy being together as a family.
Throughout their stay there was entertainment both in-house and outdoor activities to take part in, catering to kids and adults alike. One of our BoB/BoS familiy members, Lisa Johnston, said "It was the best holiday we have ever had!"
Lisa and her family were lucky enough to take part in a host of activities including a trip to an adventure park, a beach day with donkey rides, and another outing to Crealy Amusement Park.
There was also a games room, drawing competitions and a pottery painting class. Lisa continued, "There was entertainment for the kids every evening to give the grown ups a break. Lots of sweets, prizes and games for all.
"On the last night a fancy dress buffet party was put on. All the staff were dressed up and had decorated the room. A disco was put on with more games and prizes to be won by all.
"This was literally a holiday of a lifetime."
