Hero Ride West
Hero Ride West has three joining points on route to Windsor: Parker VC Recovery Centre in Plymouth (approximately 250 miles), Tedworth House Recovery Centre, Tidworth, Wiltshire (approximately 100 miles) and a further starting point approximately 50 miles from Windsor in Surrey which will take in the iconic Box Hill.
In addition, our ‘Dawn Raid’ sportive returns in the form of our West 100 ‘Sportive’ leaving Tedworth House from midnight for a ride through the dawn to Windsor.
Hero Ride culminates on Sunday with all West, East and North routes uniting in an immense demonstration of support to our troops. From our rally point in Windsor we will ride 10 miles together, pausing on the way for our signature Help for Heroes iconic photograph before finishing our ride with a BBQ and more celebrations on Windsor Racecourse.
(fondly known as the 'Dawn Raid' sportive)
Due to the popularity of the Dawn Raid, it will be returning once again! Starting in the middle of the night, you will have the privilege of riding alongside some of the guys who have spent time at Tedworth House, learning to overcome their injuries. Riders will pass through Wiltshire, Hampshire and Surrey to the iconic Box Hill, retracing the tracks of the London 2012 Olympic Road Race. As dawn breaks you will be joined on route by other riders heading to Windsor on the west route and in greater numbers you will ride together to Windsor for our grand finale.
Registration fee: £85 (non-refundable)
Suggested minimum fundraising target: £150 per person
In order to help you reach your fundraising target, we recommend that you aim to send in £50 of the suggested minimum fundraising target by Friday 27 March to help you keep on track and to help us to maximise funds for our wounded.
