Turriff School Cake Sale

Turriff School Cake Sale

Chloe Meldrum led a team of six S6 pupils fundraising in support of Help for Heroes. The team had been set the task of selecting and researching a charity and then making a presentation about the Charity as part of leadership development in school. The winning team would receive a donation to their chosen Charity. Despite a strong presentation and surprise appearance by Hero Bear, Chloe’s team were not successful in winning the competition but “did us proud” according to Local Volunteer Dougie Smith who attended the presentation evening with the team.

Undaunted by the result of their presentation evening, Chloe and the team went on to successfully encourage Turriff Academy to host a Dress-Down Day in support of Help for Heroes and then organised a Colossal Cake Sale and Coffee Morning in the Royal British Legion in Turriff. Supported by H4H Local Volunteer in Aberdeenshire (Dougie Smith).

Turriff 3 Cake

Chloe and her team laid on a magnificent event with a centre piece cake baked and donated by Isla Morrison of Turriff Academy. Chloe and her team had worked incredibly hard to gather cake donations and also a brilliant selection of raffle prizes generously donated by local businesses in Turriff.

Thank you so much to everyone who took part; what an amazing achievement!
