Walking home from school one day Emily asked her mum, Helen, if she could do a cake stall/coffee afternoon to raise some money for charity. She replied saying that they could do one and asked who she would like to raise money for. Her response was, "Have you heard of Help for Heroes?”. Helen replied, “Yes" and explained it’s a charity that helps injured soldiers. She immediately said she wanted to do it for Help for Heroes then.
Emily’s younger sister Ruby did not want to be left out so she said she wanted to help. Emily designed a poster and they both put them up at school to advertise their event. A few flyers were given out too. The day went really well with most of the cakes being sold and some wrist bands and pin badges too. In total they raised an incredible £220.00 for Help for Heroes. Both Emily and Ruby were pleased with their efforts as were their school.
Everyone at Help for Heroes would like to say a huge thank you to Emily and Ruby all their hard work and support.
