Ashfield School

For Outstanding Support and Dedication to Help for Heroes

Ashfield School in Kirkby in Ashfield runs a popular course called Uniformed Public Services; where between up to 50 students aged 16 to 18 are introduced to the different uniformed and emergency services. Many students do go on to join the Armed Forces.

Since 2010 the students and Julie Taylor the Head of Uniformed Services have selected H4H as their chosen charity,  taking up personal physical challenges as a way of fundraising.

Their favoured route is extreme endurance with running, cycling, rowing or swimming the distance from Ashfield to Afghanistan or UK to the Somme.

Inspired by the Arch to Arc challenge in 2015 this year’s group have achieved 5 Triathlons in 5 days!

They are a brilliant example of the high regard in which the Armed Forces are held in this country and these youngsters - with Julie’s help, have shown great passion and dedication to Help for Heroes
