Help for Heroes Events
Cenotaph London to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham
Directors of Unipart Technology Logistics (UTL) are preparing to walk 147 miles from London to Birmingham to support Help for Heroes. The team - led by Managing Director Claire Walters - will begin the 'UTL Walk for Heroes' at the Cenotaph war memorial in central London on Wednesday 9th November before walking north for twelve hours a day along the route of the Grand Union Canal. Covering up to 37 miles per day, the team will arrive at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham on Sunday 13th November, Remembrance Sunday.
UTL employees, customers, suppliers, friends and family have so far helped the team raise over £20,000, with many employees donating an hour of their salary as part of the 'One Hour for Heroes' campaign, Claire explained:
"The support has been amazing. Knowing how much everyone is behind us and that everyone has got involved in their own way is inspiring in itself and will really spur us on at the end of those dark,
cold, wet November days."
