Help for Heroes Events
Launch from the Top Gear Track, Dunsfold Aerodrome 18th August 2012
Rally for Heroes (R4H) is all about a group of service personnel and civilians that intend to make a mammoth road trip around Europe. The road trip is significant in as much as the distance we will travel. Fifty vehicles will leave the Top Gear Track and travel 5 miles for each fallen service person that has lost their life in the Afghanistan conflict. Sadly this is now approaching 400 and, as such, we each intend to drive nearly 2,000 miles in recognition of the fallen soldiers. All costs of the trip are borne by the drivers themselves. The most important part is that we are raising money for a hugely worthwhile cause. Last year we ran a smaller Rally aiming to raise £10,000 for Help for Heroes and after successfully finishing the event actually achieved over £32,000. This time the whole event is much bigger, as is the target! We aim to raise at least £100,000.
The intended route will see us take in some of the most famous tracks and driving routes around central Europe, these include:- Le Mans, Monaco, Stelvio Pass, Grossglockener Pass, Hockenheim Circuit and The Nurburgring.
