Help for Heroes Events

On May 1st Paul Lungmuss will leave the beach at the Black sea in Constanta, Romania! He will then cycle to the river Danube where he
will start to paddle his kayak. He intends to paddle on the rivers Danube, the Moldau, the Rhine, the Seine and the river Thames. Paul will also paddle the English Channel, and will attempt to break the current over 50"s channel crossing time by kayak. There are places where paddling will have to be replaced with cycling, due to locks, dams or waterfalls, and he will link all the rivers by bicycle.
Paul has been sponsored by "Cyclexperience", Christchurch, with a new "Cube Attention" bike, with some modifications to help reduce time and increase speed when on either the roads or off-road in Europe.
This has never been done before. Paul said; "what inspired the idea was that I thought if I were a soldier wishing to get home by kayak, from Afghanistan, how would I manage it. As the Black sea was the largest water mass near to Afghanistan, I decided that the start should be there, and so the idea was born, and I will undertake the 2,500km journey in May 2012.
The Kayak is being sponsored by Epic kayaks Europe, and I will pick it up in Bulgaria, on my way to the start in Romania.
