DHL Fundraising . . .
Tommy our Help for Heroes Bear is recognised and awarded with a operational service badge (afghanistan) for his help in hospital supplies in Bastion!
Yes that's right !! Tommy has been with the 908 Labour Support Unit at Camp Bastion taking out hospital supplies. In recognition for his work he has been given the Operational Service badge from the guys in Afghanistan.... Well Done Tommy!!
Tommy also wants to say thankyou to one of his guardians in Alfreton (Aunty Sue) for his lovely Army hat that kept him safe and sound!

Bury st Edmunds are the first site within DHL (Life Sciences) to achieve their H4H fundraising target. To date Bury have raised £5511.58 smashing their £5000 target. To celebrate the site had a celebratory BBQ courtesy of DHL. The employees enjoyed their burgers and hot dogs knowing they are making a difference to our wounded soldiers

The Northern Patient Care sales team were looking at ways of raising money for Help for Heroes and came up with a great idea..... For their regional meeting instead of staying in a hotel they gave up their hotel beds and camped instead.
They then told their colleagues, families and friends and achieved sponsorship of £385, which could be more if it is matched through the DHL foundation!!
Another idea that has brought in the funds!!

Introducing ‘Tommy’, our Help for Heroes Bear.
Donated to us by the H4H organisation, Tommy has joined us to help with our efforts to raise funds for Help for Heroes!

So where does Tommy come in?
We challenged the employees of DHL to get Tommy as far around the world as possible during 2011, employees put him in their hand luggage and off he goes. A photo is then taken of Tommy in his destination. The photos will be entered into a competition and shortlisted down to a final 12 pictures which will be made into a fund raising calendar!

Supporting a cause such as H4H is not just about organising events and raising money. It’s about participating as a community but each one of us having the choice of where, how, and when, contributing in a manner to suit each individual. We can donate our time, ideas, organisational skills or our cash etc. Each one is as important as the other to make this a successful venture.
Charity Fundraising

Charity Golf Day
Many thanks to DHL, who raised £5,000 from a charity golf day held at Staverton Park Hotel.

DHL walk for Afghanistan
The staff from Runcorn depot have just completed a leg for the "DHL walk for Afghanistan". It is 3554 miles to Afghanistan and Runcorn have totalled 152 of those miles, together over the course of the partnership we are aiming to walk the full 3554. The walk was through Flintshire in beautiful countryside and many farmers fields. Lisa Steel comms champ for the site said it was a long but enjoyable day... funds are being counted and will go towards the £3140.00 already raised.
