An excited Kilimanjaro team met at Heathrow along with our DA crew, Jo, Cambers, Doc Will.I.am and H4H Rep Jo. Check-in information was distributed along with the wonderful surprise of H4H scarves knitted by a lovely team of Kingston Grannies! Due to earlier fog, two of the team had agonising delays which resulted in a sprint for them and the crew to the aeroplane, only to find on arrival that the rest of the group had been bonding over a beer and were not there...

Costa Rica Jungle Trek 2012 Review
Finally after 28 hours of travelling we arrived! Exhausted, but elated to be finally in San José and setting foot on Costa Rican soil! We arrived at our hotel pretty late, so while some sorted out their kit and got a relatively early night, others, had a quick dip in the pool and headed into San Jose for a few beers!

The Everest Trek 2011 Review
After a hassle free check in at Heathrow and a long flight, we all arrived red eyed into Kathmandu.  Our tired senses were awakened with a sensory overload; exotic incense, roaring motorcycles jostling and jockeying as they squeezed through the old streets of Thamel; a multitude of clashing coloured hats, jackets and sleeping bags, all against the backdrop of Kathmandu’s bustling bars and restaurants.

The Nepal Trek 2011 Review
Having all met at Heathrow, we checked in under the careful eye of our DA team; Helen, Marco and Freya, the doctor. After a hectic transition at Delhi (resulting in some sprinting through the airport!), and a very slow queue for our Nepalese visas, we finally arrived in chaotic Kathmandu, to be greeted by the worst rain the city had seen in a long while. We had a brief opportunity to meet the other H4H Everest Base Camp team, who had arrived the previous night, before heading to a local restaurant for our welcome meal.

The Sahara Walk 2011 Review
In October this year our fantastic Sahara Trekkers headed out to Morocco and their adventure, 7 days in the desert was not going to be easy. Our H4H Rep Jeremy Russell kept this diary.

Trekkers arrived at Heathrow almost in a mass.  Some wearing their H4H t-shirts and therefore easy to identify and others hiding quietly in the background hoping to blend in.

The Hero Walk 2011 Review
On Sunday 25th September 2011, 300 Help for Heroes Fundraisers took to the fields and hills of Salisbury Plane for the Hero Walk.

Walking 26 miles, the wonderful H4H Trekkers pushed through high winds, the odd drop of rain and tired limbs in order to complete the trek.

Amazing Adventures in the Land of Blue Skies
After an amazing challenge in the depths of the Mongolian steppes the H4H Mongolia Horse Trek Riders came home with wonderful memories that will last them a lifetime.

Their adventure, horse trekking across 300km of Mongolian valleys, crossing many deep rivers and passing round the traditional ‘Gers’, was most definitely a demanding, inspiring and life-changing challenge!

The New Forest Bike Ride August 2011 Review
Sunday 14th August 2011 saw 245 inspirational Help for Heroes cyclists set off on the second New Forest Bike Ride of the year, and after threats of rain all week were delighted to be greeted with beautiful sunshine.

Pushing through 40 or 70 miles our cyclists tackled challenging hills, forceful winds and disgruntled cows while enjoying the gorgeous New Forest scenery.

Cycling 32 or 68 miles, the Lycra lovelies pushed through high winds and tired limbs in order to complete the ride, and have raised almost £30,000 for those wounded, sick or injured since 9/11.
