H4H Rides to Recovery Series
Colchester
Sunday 23rd September 2012
Our bike rides are our signature events and we hope these rides will be just as popular, with thousands of you joining us across the four rides. Join as an individual or in a group, bring your family and friends and maybe even ride in Fancy Dress – together, we will make this a ride to remember!
The R2R Series will take place on four Sundays in 2012, each based at one of the new Personnel Recovery Centres (PRCs) for which the series is raising money. The PRCs provide our wounded Servicemen and women with a supportive, yet familiar military environment, in which to recover once they have left Headley Court.
The Personnel Recovery Centre in Colchester Garrison will be the first purpose-built facility of its kind and will provide residential accommodation for 29 soldiers and 31 day attendees. By joining us in this cycle you will be raising funds for this PRC, for more information about Colchester PRC click here.
The R2R Colchester will take you through the rolling countryside that surrounds this beautiful area, with the long route reaching as far west as Castle Hedingham and North to Sudbury. Despite the area’s reputation for being flat there are a few inclines, nothing too steep and strenuous but there always seems to be a small undulation in sight!
CHILDREN: We are delighted to accept younger supporters over 9 years old on the Rides to Recovery. Please note, the ride takes place on the roads and children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. Help for Heroes cannot accept responsibility for your child on the day. To register participants under 18 years old, please contact H4H and we will be happy to help.
