Help for Heroes Events

The first Big Stooshie, Scotland's Charity Music Festival aims to raise £100,000 for Help for Heroes and SSAFA Forces Help and takes place on 4, 5, 6th May at The Howe Country Centre, in Giffordtown Fife.
The organisors hope the event will be the largest Scottish fundraiser for the charities in 2012. While sceptics have said their fund raising target is an ambitious, they are one step closer to their goal after confirming that global superstars JAMES will be joining an already incredible line-up.
JAMES formed in 1982 and have had huge successes. Their hit singles include "Come Home", "Sit Down", "She's a Star" and "Laid". JAMES are a truly global phenomenon and have sold more than 25 million albums worldwide.
When asked about their performance at The Big Stooshie, the band (JAMES) made the following official statement;-
"We are really excited to be playing at the Big Stooshie. We always get such a fantastic response from the Scottish crowd who really show their affection for us and maybe in some small way this show will help repay them for the years of support we've had north of the border and of course this is all for a very worthy cause. See you there!"
Joining James on the line-up are over 60 live performers with some incredible names including; The Hoosiers, The Damned, From The Jam, The Beat, The Boomtown Rats, The Dykeenies, Tommy Reilly, The Complete Stones Roses, Kazabian, Proud Mary, Scarlet Shift and introducing with their first main stage performance Waiting On Jack.
To finalise this incredible line-up another two top headliners will be announced shortly, but the organisors remain tight-lipped about who they might be.
The Big Stooshie is also a showcase of Scotland's new musical talent, where over 25 live acts will be performing on the Kingdom FM Stage in association with the Fife based radio station.
A full line-up is available on the festival website: http://www.bigstooshie.com/index.php?music=line-up
The overwhelming support for the event centres around The Big Stooshie's primary objective of raising at least £100,000 for two of the UK's most popular charities, Help for Heroes and SSAFA Forces Help.
The project also has the support of some very senior officials within the Scottish Military. When asked about the Big Stooshie, Brigadier G E Lowder MBE, Commander of the Army in Scotland gave the following endorsement.
"It is my great pleasure to endorse the Big Stooshie Music Festival as it will raise much needed funds for Help for Heroes and SSAFA Forces Help. Both charities contribute a great deal of care and support to our serving personnel, veterans, and their families."
"I congratulate the organising team in obtaining 'Red Letter Event' status from Help for Heroes as it could not have been plain sailing in obtaining the services of these top headliners."
