The Halfords Help for Heroes Bike Ride is now fully subscribed !

Thank you for your interest in the Halfords Help for Heroes Bike Ride. There has been a fantastic response and all 300 places for this ride have now been allocated.  We have a short list of reserves and we are working on a cunning plan to see if we can increase numbers to include them.

Don’t be disappointed! You can still “do your bit on a bike”. We are planning a spectacular national Hero Ride and you can be part of it.

The Great British Hero Ride. We are asking everyone to do their bit on a bike and join us at 1pm on the 1st June 2008 at Whitehall Place. You will need to pre register ALL DETAILS so that we can send you your pass to allow entry. Places are limited to 3,000 so you MUST register your individual details to be eligible to attend.

The HHHBR will officially end at Calais on the night of 31 May. On the morning of 1 June the riders will be taken to Whitehall Place where they will remount their bikes and join The Great British Hero Ride (GBHR).

About the Halfords Help for Heroes Bike Ride:

Our cycle challenge takes us from HMS Victory in Portsmouth, across the channel to Caen travelling through northern France and returning to London.

This demanding route traces some of the region’s most significant WW1 & WW2 battle sites, including the Normandy landing beaches and Thiepval on the Somme.

This will be a great physical challenge ending with a cycle through central London past the Cenotaph and onto Horse Guards.

The detailed plans are being finalised but include unique events that ‘money can't buy’ and will make this trip a once in a lifetime experience. The ride will be challenging but achievable with proper training and you will have the satisfaction of knowing you are doing it for a very good cause.

Each rider will be a fund-raiser and will pledge to raise a minimum of £2000 so this will require commitment and a certain amount of your time. We will be helping with your efforts and training and we hope you will form your own team.
