OVERVIEW

Help for Heroes has teamed up with Running Crazy Ltd to organise team participation in an overseas marathon taking place in one of Europe's most exciting and vibrant cities, Barcelona. Those Help for Heroes supporters who sign up will enjoy a weekend overseas, running excursion planned to the last detail by Running Crazy's highly competent and experienced team, whilst raising funds for our wounded.

THE ROUTE

Over 12,000 runners took part in the last event, touring some of the Catalan capital's incredible landmarks as they made their way along the 26.2 mile course, and the 2011 race promises to be even better. The tourist board in Barcelona are pulling out all the stops to ensure that this becomes one of the great City Marathons and once the race is out of the way, the sights, sounds and unbeatable entertainment on the lively streets of Barcelona are yours for the taking.

The trip offers runners a chance to see a huge variety of sights from the many Gaudi designed buildings, the Cathedral, Picasso and Dali Museums to the street entertainers of Las Rambla, the Nou Camp and FC Barcelona.

Above all, the trip will offer a chance to run a fantastic course in an incredible city, raising sponsorship for the wounded servicemen and women of today's conflicts and forging close friendships along the way.

TRIP SUPPORT

Along with guaranteed entry in the hugely popular Barcelona City Marathon, each runner will be provided with guides and transfers from the point of reaching Barcelona Airport, 4 star hotel accommodation, an evening meal and early breakfast. A pre-race meeting and course briefing will take place on the day of the race, as well as support for runners and spectators during the race and the all-important post-race party!

The package also includes the collection and delivery of race numbers, timing chips, goody bags, a medal and/or t-shirt and a full results service. You will also receive a commemorative DVD of your run and a Running Crazy guide and map of Barcelona. Travel insurance, including cover for competitive running is optional from £11.

BOOKING FLIGHTS AND REGISTERING

Runners and supporters signing up to the H4H 4-day package should arrange to arrive and depart ANYTIME between 9am on Friday 4th March and midday on Tuesday 8th March.

The closing date for registrations is 30th January.
