A. Turner & Sons of Aldershot have launched two new flavours of sausage through 40 Tesco superstores across the south of England. The award winning sausages are called The Hair of the Hog and the Pickled Pig and are made with real ale, from the Hogs Back Brewery in Tongham.
The Hair of the Hog is a traditional pork sausage with the added flavour of T.E.A, a 4.2% real ale and former Champion Beer of Britian. The Pickled Pig is a more robust sausage using a unique blend of herbs and spices and a 9% real ale called A over T, which has also been crowned Champion Beer of Britian.
The new sausages were launched at Tesco with the support of MP Gerald Howarth (Shadow Defence Minister). Both varieties are available in packs of 400 grams with six sausages per pack, and are made of 80% pork sourced in the South of England. For every pack sold through Tescos, A. Turner & Sons will donate 5p to Help For Heroes. In addition, DBC & Purple Foods, the military food service supplier, are also selling the sausages and donating 20p from every box to Help for Heroes.
To celebrate the launch of their new sausages, A. Turner & Sons have come up with a concept of "Bangers For Cash", a sausage themed charity fundraiser open to all forces bases around the country throughout March 2010.
The event is open to all forces bases who fancy making a ton of money for Help for Heroes, and having fun in the process. Bases that have already signed up include RMA Sandhurst; RAF Cranwell and Royal Navy Dartmouth. There are also plans to get further funding to host sponsored 
events in the Falklands and Afghanistan.
A. Turner & Sons has secured funding from B.P.E.X (British Pig Executive) and the Potato Council, for 1600 service personnel to eat for free (and there's lots more to follow!). This very generous donation of food means that even more money can be raised for H4H, and that means more help for our wounded Servicemen and women.
Organising Your Event
There is no set format to Bangers For Cash, it is down to the base to decide how to go about it and there are no rules or regulations. All we ask is that you raise as much money as possible, and have a great evening to boot.
Every Bangers for Cash event should be registerd with H4H and all monies raised should be paid directly to the charity. Once you have registered, we can send you collection buckets, banners and posters to help promote your event. After each event the organiser should email aturnerandsons@btconnect.com, with the total raised so your event total can be accounted for in the fundraising total.

There is no requirement to use A. Turner & Sons sausages, but don't forget for every case they sell, they will donate 20p to H4H, so your event will be raising even more cash for our wounded.
